Outdoor lighting doesn’t come in a one-style-fits-all mold. In fact, with varying fixtures, techniques, and objects of focus, outdoor lighting can shift your home’s style to be a little more whimsical, modern, traditional, coastal, or any other style you choose.
Recently, a Town and Country homeowner had us add more lights to her property for some modern flare. During our initial outdoor lighting installation, we started with classic uplighting on the house and the landscape. The lighting highlighted the charming stone façade, drew visitors in with an inviting front entry, and illuminated the property overall.
But, a few contemporary light fixtures caught her eye, and she just knew they’d be a lovely accent for achieving the design aesthetic she desired. It turns out, adding personal character, charm, or fun to a property can be as simple as adding new outdoor lighting. Check out what we did.
Modern Landscape Lights
We wired amazing contemporary lights into the existing system, that transform the landscape into a unique atmosphere for outdoor enjoyment. It includes round path lights, taller modern bollard-style landscape lights, a charming umbrella light, sconces, and a decorative shadow-creating bollard.
Path Lights
The two circular path lights leading to the front entry are eye-catching and a perfect accent to the river rock. We also added a unique umbrella path light into the landscape bed around back for a special touch.
Landscape Lights
The taller landscape lights are a lovely way to add daytime sculpture and nighttime illuminating with a sleek design. A central LED light source illuminates the interior of the oblong center cut-out as well as the surrounding landscape. We added three of these stunning lights evenly spaced along the patio landscape border.
Sconces
Sconce lights are a great way to add subtle lighting near a vertical structure, such as a wall or home. The modern sconces this Town and Country homeowner chose match the taller modern landscape lights and are featured on the back door of the home as well as the garage.
Bollard
Our bollard light features a swirl design that pulls triple-duty. During the day, it acts as an artistic sculpture. At night, it creates gorgeous light along the landscape. Furthermore, for a bonus, it also creates whimsical shadows all around.
Lanterns
To complete this rustic-sheek combination style, we even sourced two lanterns for the homeowner to add to her front porch and back patio. While the lanterns are not wired into the system, we were excited to help her find exactly what she wanted to complete the look.
