One of the many outcomes of the current economic conditions is the notion of a “staycation.” Many people are foregoing traditional vacations and opting to enjoy more quality time at home. I’m curious to see the resulting trends and how consumers will choose to enhance this extended time at home this summer.
Amy Dowling of Long Island’s Outdoor Lighting Perspectives in Huntington, NY, raised this point in a recent article in The East Hampton Press & The Shouthampton Press. “Due to the faltering economy, Ms. Dowling said she expects to see an even more intense focus on outdoor lighting this summer as people opt to spend more time in their own homes rather than traveling.”
