Outdoor Lighting That Makes Sure Your Home And Outdoor Spaces Do Not Get Lost At Night

Are you like me and are itching to get outside again? The weather keeps teasing us with a warm, breezy day here and there, just enough to tempt us to start thinking about spending time outdoors. It’s on these warm days that we want to stay outside as long as possible, and we begin thinking of ways for that to happen. I can suggest one way to make it a reality; by using outdoor lighting.

There are many approaches to outdoor lighting depending on how you want to illuminate your home, garden, landscaping, deck or other spaces. One of the most popular ways to highlight the beauty of trees and architectural details on your home is by using an effect called up lighting. I bet Memphis outdoor tree lighting this type of lighting is what you notice most on homes, trees, and shrubs as you drive by. Think about repeating patterns on the facade of a home with windows, arches or columns, or even taller elements such as the chimneys and roof peaks. All of these structures are perfect places to use up lighting, but there are a right and a wrong way to light these elements. When lighting a taller object like columns or arches, the beam of light shining upward dramatically illuminates the elements. It’s important to remember to keep the light from shining in windows, in direct line of site or even pointing at a neighbor’s home. The outdoor lighting fixtures need to be adjusting correctly to make sure they are only emphasizing the element it is intended to illuminate. You won’t see the lighting fixture, only the beautiful effect it has on your home and other elements that could otherwise be lost at night. It really brings your entire property to life.

Flowering trees or specimen trees benefit highly from up lighting as well as textured walls and statues. With a taller object like a tree, it is important to place the lighting fixture close enough Tree Lighting by Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Memphis to the bottom of the tree to emphasize the texture of the trunk while still illuminating the entire canopy and bringing out the color of the crown. The closer the lighting fixture, the more the texture and color will show. On the flip side, if it is placed too close to the tree, you will produce a “hot spot” effect, a spot on the trunk that is too bright and looks washed out.
