At Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Grand Rapids, you’ll work closely with our owner, Rob Clark. Rob will spend as much time as it takes up front working with your family, your architect, interior designer and/or landscape designer. Rob has long been drawing to architecture, design and landscapes. Rob grew up in the local landscape design/build firm, Clark’s Nurseries and Landscape. Even from a young age Rob was drawn to all things electrical. As a pre-teen, his parents would often find him cutting up old electrical cords and attaching them to light bulbs and light switches. In college, Rob was drawn to Electrical Engineering but after one too many calculus classes decided that business and specifically Supply Chain Management was more his style.

After college, Rob began a career in the Contract Office Furniture area. Another industry that serves and supports architecture. He worked with many of the popular names in the area including Steelcase, Haworth, Herman Miller and other furniture manufacturers large and small. He had the joy of working in product development, marketing, customer service and sales before leaving at age 40 to create a business that fused his childhood passions. Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Grand Rapids was launched to bring Landscape and Architectural Lighting to homes and businesses in the area.

Rob, along with his wife Marie and four kids (Fern, Cora, Oliver and Pearl) reside in Ada. They are passionate about all things West Michigan including the outdoors and the endless activities it provides. Every day Rob is thankful to be doing what he loves, using lighting to celebrate architecture and landscapes while simultaneously creating spaces for family and friends to connect. It is a joy to participate in beautifying the world around us.
