Stephen Sondheim, who unfortunately passed recently at age 91, was the creator of the Broadway classic Sunday In The Park With George, for which he wrote the music and lyrics.
He was celebrated for his genius for receiving the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1985, as well as two Tony Awards for best lighting design from the American Theatre Wing.
When speaking to many of our clients, we frequently recall the words to one of his songs from that landmark musical titled “Color And Light.”
Georges Seurat, the renowned pointillism painter who is the focus of the story, recites a sequence that leads to a showcase of illumination within his painting as he creates it:
Order … Design … Composition … Tone … Form … Symmetry … and Balance
The culmination of these visual attributes, all in perfect harmony, leads Georges to discover more light within his painting A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte.
Inspired by optical effects and perception inherent in the color theories of Michel Eugène Chevreul, Ogden Rood and others, Seurat adapted this scientific research to his painting.
Seurat contrasted miniature dots or small brushstrokes of color that when unified optically in the human eye were perceived as a single shade or hue.
It’s all a testament to the art of perfectionism, one that we fully understand and aspire to here at Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Clearwater and Tampa Bay.
Shedding More Light On A Landscape Takes Cohesion, Parallel Lines, And Uniformity, Classically Aligned To Broadcast Dazzling Illumination Effects
To be honest and precise, this is about more than our team – it is about our clients.
We call it Cohesive Outdoor Lighting Illumination for outdoor lighting system overhauls, retrofits, and redesigns. Updating systems installed by us or other vendors is absolutely no problem.
As one of our regular clients recently told us while we met to upgrade and extend the outdoor lighting system which we originally installed for him years ago, ““I don’t care about the semantics. I just want my landscape lights to be cohesive.”
Another instructed us with, “I don’t care about what details it takes, I just want all my landscape lighting to match.”
Yessiree, we get it. Just as we are sure Georges did.
Matching outdoor light fixtures to an existing system adds a symphonic blend of visual harmony to the enhanced landscape lighting installation.
And since we are still using our same stunning fixture exteriors – embellished with the latest bulb and timing technology – creating this often requested seamless look is a piece of cake for us, and a pleasure.
It’s All About The Strategic Placement Of Our Outdoor Light Fixtures To Maximize Stunning Effects At Night
Design is everything, from the plotting of desired lighting effects to the pre-determined placement of our proprietary low voltage brass and copper outdoor lights to continue perfected illumination long into the evening hours.
We’re better because we’re different.
